You decide if you want to hike 1, 2 or 3 days. You can start your adventure at Lewis Mountain Cabins with an overnight stay. Bring along your picnic dinner for the evening and lunch for the next day. Dine with song birds on your sheltered picnic table. Your car can remain parked at Lewis while you’re out exploring the A.T.
The next morning hike the A.T. seven miles north to Big Meadows Lodge. Then freshen up in a comfortable room and have a hearty meal in the Spottswood Dining Room. Don’t forget to order a bag lunch for the next day’s hike!
After breakfast, head out for another day of “Forest Bathing”, which is a Japanese practice of walking mindfully in the forest. Walking in the forests have been shown to lower stress, blood pressure and heart rate. It’s fun and good for you! You hike nine miles arriving at Skyland in mid to late afternoon. Once again, a comfy room, hot shower and delicious food are awaiting.
Your final morning enjoy breakfast before taking the Hiker Shuttle back to Lewis Mountain to get your car.
