Big Meadows Intermittent Power Outages

Starting Tuesday, April 9, there will be intermittent power outages in the Big Meadows area for three weeks due to extensive repairs. Outages will affect campground bathrooms. The visitor center and wayside have generators, but WiFi may be affected.

Cancellation Policy

All reservations may be changed or canceled at no charge* by 4:00 pm EDT 2 days before the scheduled arrival date. Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.

*Excludes reservations booked under the Advance Purchase Rate, which are non-refundable

The following terms and conditions of Delaware North at Shenandoah National Park apply to your reservations and by making your reservations using our on-line reservation system you understand, acknowledge and agree to our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation without notice if we become aware of or are notified of any fraud or illegal activity associated with this reservation. Availability can change at any time during the booking process. Taxes and fees are subject to change without notice.

Your reservation is confirmed when you receive an e-mail confirmation.
  • A $6.00 Utility Charge will be added to the room rate - per room, per night. This fee is to help recover the cost of utilities in the Park.
  • An optional $1.00 Shenandoah National Park Trust donation will be added to your bill. You may opt-out of the donation at any time during your stay. As the official philanthropic partner of Shenandoah National Park, the Trust provides strategic investments in programs and initiatives that help protect, enhance, and preserve the resources of Shenandoah National Park for all to enjoy - for this and future generations.
  • Room rates at Skyland, Big Meadows Lodge, and Lewis Mountain Cabins are subject to 5.3% State tax and 5% Virginia State Hotel Occupancy tax.
  • Rollaway beds are available at $11.00 per bed plus tax
  • Additional Adult charge $11.00
  • Children are considered 15 years of age and younger
  • Advance Booking Limit: You can book your arrival date a maximum of one year and one month in advance of arrival.
  • Check-in Process
    • Skyland and Big Meadows Lodge: Check-in 4:00 p.m. Check-out 11:00 a.m.
    • Lewis Mountain Cabins: Please check-in prior to 5:00 p.m. Check-out 11:00 a.m. If you think you will be a late arrival, please notify the manager on duty at the Lewis Mountain Campstore for the check-in process by calling 540-843-2115.
  • Must be age 18+ to make a reservation and check in.

Special Requests. We will do our best to honor your request; however we cannot guarantee specific rooms or locations.

Third Party Reservations/Credit Card User - If you are making reservations on behalf of another person ("credit card holder"), you make the following representations and warranties and further agree to comply with the terms and conditions stated below:

  • You have obtained legal authorization from the credit card holder to make reservations on behalf of the credit card holder, to pay all advanced deposit charge(s) using the credit card holder's credit card and agree to our terms and conditions on the credit card holder's behalf and thereby bind credit card holder to our terms and conditions; 
  • The Guest Information you have provided above, e.g., name, phone number, and address, is that of the credit card holder; 
  • You have advised the credit card holder that we do not impose any third party booking charges and we will accept reservations directly from the credit card holder; and,
  • You will inform the credit card holder of all our Terms and Conditions, and provide the credit card holder with reservation confirmation(s) and any other information or correspondence pertaining to the credit card holder's reservations.

All reservations require payment of the first night rate (including tax) as a deposit at the time of reservation. Some packages and special events require full payment at the time you make your reservations. Daily rates do not include applicable state, federal, county taxes, utility tax or Shenandoah National Park Trust Donation.

We offer pet-friendly rooms at Skyland, Big Meadows Lodge and Lewis Mountain Cabins in Shenandoah National Park.

The following apply:

  • $30 per pet, per night, non-refundable cleaning fee will be charged for pets in the room.
  • Reservations for pets must be disclosed prior to arrival or at check-in.
  • At this time, we only accept dogs or cats - no other animals.
  • No more than two well-behaved pets per room are permitted. 
  • Pet owners will be liable for any additional cleaning bills or repairs should they be required.
  • Service animals accompanying people with disabilities are always welcome.  
  • Pets must be declared at check-in. 
  • A $250.00 fee will be charged for pets that are found to be in any allergen free room. Allergen free rooms are clearly marked just outside the door entrance.
  • In consideration of all hotel guests, pets must be attended at all times in all common areas. They cannot be left unattended in your guestroom unless it is in a portable kennel. For the safety and comfort of your pet, housekeeping will NOT clean your room if your pet is left unattended.
  • Pets cannot be tied or left unattended on hotel balconies.
  • Pets are not permitted in any public building.  Service animals are always welcome.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times while in the Park.  Check the NPS Shenandoah National Park website for their current policy.
  • When walking pets on the property, please be considerate of all hotel and Park guests.
  • “Mutt Mitts” are located in your room for cleaning up after your pets.

All Delaware North properties are non-smoking facilities. Smoking is prohibited in all public areas. A $250.00 cleaning fee will be assessed for smoking inside the lodging rooms. If you must smoke, Virginia State law mandates that you must be 25 yards from any building when doing so. Please help us keep the environment clean by properly disposing of cigarette butts in a trash can.
