Shenandoah National Park Horseback Riding

Skyland Stables - Shenandoah National ParkThere is no more genuine way to experience Shenandoah National Park than on horseback. A guided ride through a wooded trail on a mode of transportation yet to be improved upon by any technology offers an entirely new perspective.

Our one-hour and two-and-half-hour guided horseback rides depart from the Skyland stables throughout the day, weather permitting. The rides depart from the stables, cross over Skyline Drive, travel pass the Limberlost area through an old apple orchard.  The stables are located off Skyline Drive at mile 42.5. No open-toed shoes. Must be at stables 30 minutes prior to departure time. Must be at least 4'10" tall and weigh less than 250 lbs.

Pony Rides

Pony rides are available for smaller children five years and under. Children's feet must reach the stirrups, and helmets must be worn. Reservations are not required for pony rides.
