Skyland works with the staff at Teamlink, Inc. who has developed an array of high-energy programs focusing on cohesion, communication, flexibility and problem solving. From as short as 90 minutes to as long as an entire day, these professionally coordinated exercises combine fun and friendly competition to boost morale and productivity.
Popular team building activities include:
T1 Challenges - The baseline for all other programs, these activities are appropriate for all staff, from facilities maintenance to CEO. A range of activities, starting with simple verbal communication challenges and working up to complex asset management problems, were specifically developed for their effectiveness, fun and applicability to “professional behavioral demands". Generally lasting from 4 to 6 hours, these activities focus on the way work groups relate to each other as individuals and as a group collectively. Normally, T1 Challenges are stand-alone training days designed to focus on all aspects of work group/team development. The activities are memorable, fun, meaningful, highly portable and appropriate for both indoors and outdoors. Results for both newly (re)organized and long-established work groups are equally successful, with team cohesiveness typically advanced by weeks, if not months.
- Adventure Pursuits - These activities were made for team building! The staff from Shenandoah Mountain Guides engages your people with adventure-based challenges perfect for corporate outings and team growth! Training goals and outcomes are similar to theT1 programs, but the experience is less “skill focused".
- Rock Climbing - Requiring more trust than muscle, this is much more of a psychological challenge than a physical challenge. The bonds of trust, anxiety and shared challenge build camaraderie that is legendary. Although it is not extremely physically demanding, it does require a positive spirit and adventurous attitude. (Limited to 20 participants. Available April through October.)
- Hiking - A guided hike to a remote Blue Ridge summit is another low-to-medium impact way of building camaraderie and team spirit. The guides can help you select the perfect mountain, route and time (sunrise, midday, sunset, moonlight) for your group. (Limited to 30 participants. Available year round, weather permitting.)
