Apple Butter - Shenandoah National ParkCome to Skyland as the staff sets up the copper kettles and stokes up the fire for a day of apple boiling. Watch the process, give the kettle a stir, try a delicious sample, and take home some fresh-from-the-kettle jars of apple butter!

Our chefs will be creating a great menu of items such as BBQ Pork Sandwich with Apple Cider BBQ Sauce, Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Bacon Apple BBQ Sauce, Granny Apple Cole Slaw, Scalloped Apples, Apple Cobbler, Apple Strudel, Gala Apple Wedges with a Warm Caramel Sauce, and Cold and Hot Spiced Apple Cider.

Wine and hard cider tasting, pony rides, children’s crafts, and live entertainment are also featured throughout the day!

Nikki Dovel - Shenandoah National ParkNikki Dovel is a singer/songwriter from the Shenandoah Valley. Growing up in a family of professional musicians, she has had opportunities to share the stage with some legendary artists such as Loretta Lynn, Randy Travis, T Graham Brown, and Colin Raye to name a few.

Shenandoah Valley Cloggers

Shenandoah Valley CloggersThe Shenandoah Valley Cloggers Inc., formed in 1984, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Appalachian clogging, a distinctive form of American folk dance, which encompasses many different traditions of step dances with Scottish, English, Dutch and German roots. To entertain a variety of ages, the troupe’s music includes everything from bluegrass, to country, to pop, to old time rock ‘n’ roll. Since 1984, the troupe has been performing Tuesday evenings from April through October at Skyland in Shenandoah National Park. The troupe is made up of 14 dancers, ranging in age from mid-20s to late 60s, all focused on their love of clogging and the enjoyment of entertaining.

Somewhere Tonight

Somewhere Tonight features band members Brenda Jeffries (vocals, bass), Tad Loving (vocals, mandolin, guitar), Marie Fox (vocals, banjo) and Dan Lewis (vocals, guitar) playing eclectic acoustic music including folk, blues, country, bluegrass and Americana. They've been playing together as a group and in other groups together for about ten years. They are very enthusiastic and interactive with the audience. They have been playing regularly in the park for about five years and very much enjoy the atmosphere and international audiences.

Mountain Heritage Cloggers

Mountain Heritage Cloggers - Shenandoah National ParkMountain Heritage Cloggers strive to keep the tradition of clogging alive, while also appealing to younger audiences with contemporary routines as well. Many of their dancers have travelled across the US performing at prestigious venues such as: The Stompin’ Grounds (The clogging Capital of the World), Dollywood, Opryland and The Carolina Opry as well as local Fairs, Lawn Parties, Festivals and Corporate Events. Five members are on the American Clogging Hall of Fame (ACHF) All American Team, which is a prestigious award only given to only 24 dancers Nationwide each year.

Ace $trings Band

Ace $tring Band - Shenandoah National ParkAce $trings Band got its start in 2015 with three guys having band experience dating to the 1960s. Their style is Americana music including Bluegrass-Blues-Folk-Country. Alan Reeseman plays mandolin, dobro and bass; E.J. Burke on fiddle, banjo, and guitar; Bob Chappell on guitar and bass. They have two originals including "The Boy Gave a Possum to the President", a true story about an event that happened at President Hoover's Rapidan Camp.
